ABOUT OUR TEAM
Pastor Dan Smith
Dan Smith, known just about everywhere as Pastor Dan, recently retired after 45 years pastoring in Oregon, Illinois, and California. His last two churches were la Sierra University Church, and Garden Grove. He grew up in Thailand as the oldest of four sons of missionary parents. He learned righteousness by faith and assurance of salvation from his uncle, Morris Venden in college, the Gospel of being saved by grace alone from several mentors in Seminary, and then fell in love with the Character of God movement as a young pastor. In the late '90s he received invitations to go do weeks of prayer in Thailand, the Philippines, and India, and that started the amazing journey he has had over the last 20 years, preaching around the world, leading mission trip groups, and building churches, schools, and orphanages. For 20 years he led a double life, pastoring and giving Bible studies on this side, and taking hundreds of young people and others overseas to feed the other side of jis double calling.
When he retired in June, 2019, he and Pastor Chin Kim started GraceFORCE, a non-profit 501(c)3 foundation to do evangelism and development work around the world. Their dream is to build a powerful force to spread grace around the world through taking speakers and teams to do evangelism, to take groups to build churches and schools where nobody else is helping, and offer a wealth of resources to the world church through GRACEFORCE UNIVERSITY, this GRACEFORCE website, and GODTALK TV programs and podcasts.

MORE ABOUT OUR TEAM
PASSION: GRACE: Everyone. Everywhere. Every Time.
DREAMS: (1) To make God look good; and (2) To make as many friends for God as possible!
GOALS:
1) To partner with Quiet Hour Ministries to take teams of evangelists, medical personnel, children's ministry people, construction workers, musicians, and others on several mission trips a year, and by preaching the Adventist message through the unique emphasis on the gracious character of God..

2) To help raise substantial resources to help build churches and schools, orphanages and clinics, and to help provide pastors with the tools they need to do their ministry, in places where that need the most help, with total transparency, accountability, and with the least amount of overhead possible!

3) To create GraceFORCE UNIVERSITY, a free online resource to train bible workers, lay pastors, and church officers using video, powerpoint, audio, and print lessons to take classes from an available curriculum of over 20 classes.

4) To use media, such as the GodTalk program on Loma Linda Broadcasting Network (LLBN), and the GODTALK podcast, and other materials to spread the good news about our amazing God.
VALUES:

WHOLISTIC--Many ministries do one thing--do medical missions, or build churches, or do evangelism, or do children's ministry. Our "brand" is to try to do it all--to go into a place, and do our best to lift the whole mission. During the day we hold clinics and do construction, at night we do evangelism and hold Vacation Bible Schools. if the teachers haven't been paid for two months we raise the money to help. If the pastors need motorcycles or a video projector, we try to help with that. Whatever the Holy Spirit burns into our hearts, we try to listen and follow.
FOLLOW-THROUGH--if there is anything we hate is another unfinished church! We do our best to finish what we start. We want to keep the people we baptize. We want to get the churches finished until they have pews, sound systems, a sign, a driveway, and they are ready to be a powerful beacon of light to their community and be a church that will make their members proud, and draw the community to check them out.
CONTEXTUAL: We have a high value for mixing in with the people where we are going. We try to learn ten new words a day. We ask a thousand questions to get to know them. We want them to eat with us, and we become lifelong friends. We defer to them in every way that we can--they stay there, they know their place, and we want to work in their context.
THICK not THIN: Millions of people live life thin--"pass the butter," "How the Lakers do last night?" "Think it's going to rain?" There's nothing wrong with that--but it's not enough! We only have one life to live, and we want to live it thick! Take some chances, get to another religion, another culture, try their food, wear some of their clothes, get into their houses, and embrace the craziness that can happen on a mission trip. If it rains, deal with it. For us it is worth it to fly for 15 hours, eat soe different food, deal with the heat and bugs and long hours--and then have friends who Messenger you from all over the world, walk the beaches of Tonga and El Nido and Phuket, shop at the Night Bazaar, and do a safari in South Africa. Those moments when you see 300 people surge down the aisle during an appeal, watching a mass baptism in the ocean, taking hundreds of selfies after the last meeting--makes it all worthwhile. THICK!
